Margam Green Energy Plant in Port Talbot, South Wales commenced construction in early 2015 and is expected to enter commercial operation in mid-2017. The £160m wood fired power station is expected to manage up to 250,000 tonnes of waste wood generating enough electricity to power the equivalent of 75,000 homes. The new facility will save approximately 270,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
